No.1 Funeral Home
Seascape Cemetery
The Victory Memorial Park located in Surrey covers an area of 36 acres and is similar to a park, offering views of Vancouver's coastal mountains, mature trees, and impeccable landscapes. Around our beautiful cemetery, birds sing and the water murmurs. It is indeed a place of peace and reflection. The Veterans Memorial Trust Association established the Veterans Memorial Park, which later became Victory Memorial Park, in 1955. The first funeral was held in March 1959. Not long after, a 65 foot military cross was built; Howitzers are placed on both sides. In the 1970s, cemeteries transformed from primarily serving military personnel and their families to public cemeteries. The howitzers were donated to Whitestone City and Vancouver Armory. Although Victory Memorial Park is no longer a dedicated veterans' cemetery, we still pay tribute to every veteran buried here on Memorial Day. Victory Memorial Park now has designated areas for members of religious organizations, such as the Beth Tikvah Jewish Congregation (Richmond), the Armenian Church of St. Valtan, the Hosseini Association of Canada, Aga Khan, the Armenian Church, and the British Columbia Muslim Association.
